Hi Vlad,
So meecast_predaemon is continually crashing for latest 1.12.17 hence not auto updating . A few ppl have reported.
Thanks

Hi,

I need more information. It works on my device.

BR,

Vlad.

skyjumper's picture

Sure, well I'm running X10III on SFOS 5.0.0.77 and Meecast 1.12.17.
Updating to 1.12.17 users here and myself are experiencing no auto update in Eventview on device. My date in eventview is more than > 24 hour old since (a reboot) which temporarily fixes it

Running a manual update in Meecast app does not update eventview update time.

vasvlad's picture

I just uploaded bug fix release  - 1.12.18. Try it. Please reboot your device after upgrading package.

BR,

Vlad

Fixed! Thanks...

Thanks for flike for BOM source too

Hi Vlad,

So the latest v 1.12.12 eventview is now producing N/A N/A in my event view. X10 III with SFOS 5.0.0.68

Meecast itself switches in and out of finding my source - bom.gov.au for Melbourne (IDV10450)

Hi Vlad,
I have some unusually high temperature readings for a particular destination.
Westgate-on-Sea, Kent, UK shows 56ºc, 59ºc and 50ºc for the first 3 days (21st, 22nd and 23rd), the rest of the outlook is normal. The low temps also look normal, it's only high temps that seem to display incorrectly.
I have removed the destination and added again/refreshed, but no change.
No biggie, just thought I'd report it.

vasvlad's picture

What weather forecast source do you use?

Markkyboy's picture

The Weather Channel

vasvlad's picture

Currently looks like all is ok.

I am not able to make it work on Sailfish 5... This app enables weather on event view but the widget just says "Tap to set up location" and tapping on it does nothing - I think it's the original Weather widget, not Meecast's one.

PawelSpoon's picture

Does work from cmd line: harbour-meecast. After running it once from cmd, seems to work

PawelSpoon's picture

Same here

pvcn's picture

I just recognized that the problem i described only occurs when the app has not set an intervall for automated weather update (i always updated manually with the button on home screen widget). Now i set an automated update intervall (1h) and app, eventsview widget and lock screen symbol synchronize with every weather update.

pvcn's picture

Since last update, meecast in events view does not synchronise well with meecast app: (1) If i actualize app, events view widget still shows older update time. (2) If i change location in app or on homescreen with cover action, the location does not change in events view. (3) To synchronize location between app and eventsview, i have to reboot phone or restart homescreen.

vasvlad's picture

Hmm.

I'm going to explore this problem later.

I think Vasvlad and I have fully resolved installing MeeCast’s Eventview from OpenRepos (preferrably by using Storeman) on SailfishOS ≥ 4.6.0.

I would appreciate very much if someone tests this:

  1. As usual, please remove the harbour-meecast package first (which should also remove all other MeeCast packages: Please check with pkcon search name meecast that none is still installed).
  2. Then install the MeeCast’s Eventview package using Storeman (which should automatically also install the MeeCast Demon and MeeCast proper).

a. Is the installation working fine?
b. Does MeeCast’s Eventview work fine then?

olf's picture

a. Not yet, unfortunately when using Storeman.

b. Yes, after manual download and installation.

Can we have the hourly forecast ike the Weather app on the events screen?

vasvlad's picture

Please, show me screenshot what do you want.

HansRoulade's picture

They are talking about the weather forecast view on an hourly basis, as the "old" Weather (Foreca) app has shown in the past (on a second tap IIRC). The data is already available in the app, in the rightmost view for each day (13:00, 14:00, 15:00 etc.) so it should only be a matter of graphics formatting. I would love to see that, too :)
